Five days between two very different Italys — the vertical limestone of the Dolomites, then the soft water and old villas of Lake Como. Walk hard for three days, then do very little for two.
Trip Experience Guide
An outdoors trip that does not punish you. Trails are chosen for the views rather than the difficulty, and the second half of the week is deliberately slow.
Day 1
Venice – Alpe di Siusi
Met at Venice airport and driven north as the land rises. By evening you are on the Alpe di Siusi, the largest high alpine meadow in Europe, with the Sassolungo massif filling the window.
Day 2
Alpe di Siusi Trails
A full day on foot with a mountain guide. Open meadow walking rather than scrambling, with the Dolomites standing up all around you and a rifugio lunch halfway.
Day 3
Dolomites to Lake Como
A scenic transfer west over the passes, trading limestone towers for water and cypress. You arrive at the lake in time for a late lunch by the shore.
Day 4
Lake Como by Private Boat
Out on the water in a classic wooden boat, past villas, terraced gardens and villages that only make sense from the lake. Stops at Bellagio and Varenna, with swimming wherever you feel like it.
Day 5
Lake Como – Milan Departure
A relaxed final morning on the waterfront — a coffee, a slow walk, a last look at the mountains at the far end of the lake — then the short run down to Milan.
Walking days can be made easier or harder without changing the shape of the week. Tell us what kind of pace you enjoy.
