Trip Experience Guide

A sea journey through the national park on a boat with a small crew. Days begin before sunrise and end with the anchor down in a quiet bay.

Day 1

Labuan Bajo: Boarding & Kalong at Dusk

Fly into Labuan Bajo on Flores and board the phinisi in the harbour after lunch. The first afternoon brings a short climb and a swim on Kelor, then the anchor drops off Kalong, where thousands of flying foxes leave the mangroves at dusk.

Day 2

Padar & Komodo: Ridges, Dragons & Pink Beach

Climb Padar’s stepped path in the dark to reach the viewpoint for sunrise over its curving bays. Later, a ranger leads you among the dragons on Komodo Island, on a landing booked in advance, before an afternoon snorkel off Pink Beach.

Day 3

Manta Point & Kanawa: Reefs & Return

Drift over Makassar Reef, where manta rays often gather at cleaning stations in the current, then snorkel the shallow coral off Kanawa. The boat is back in Labuan Bajo by early afternoon for the flight to Bali or Jakarta.

Park permits and the Komodo Island landing are arranged ahead, and the route bends to tides and currents. An extra day on Flores reaches the Cunca Wulang canyon, a little over an hour inland from Labuan Bajo.
