Your Trip Preview
Five days above the Arctic Circle in the dark months, when the sky does things you have to see to believe. Dog sledding, a night away from every streetlight, and cold that is entirely worth it.
Trip Experience Guide
A winter trip built around the aurora, with daylight hours filled by the things northern Norway does best — huskies, fjords, and food that makes sense in the cold.
Day 1
Tromsø – Arrival
Arrive into Tromsø and settle in. If the sky is clear, your guide will take you out of town on the first evening, because in aurora season you never waste a clear night.
Day 2
Husky Camp & Sledding
A morning learning to drive your own team of huskies across open country. It is noisier, faster and far more fun than most people expect. Lunch is over a fire in a lavvu tent.
Day 3
Fjord Day by Boat
Out onto the fjords with a small crew who fish these waters. Sea eagles overhead, whales in the water if the herring have come in, and a hot meal on the way back as the light goes violet.
Day 4
Wilderness Camp Night
North to a camp well clear of the city lights, where you spend the night watching for the aurora with nothing electric in any direction. A guide keeps the fire going and explains what the sky is doing.
Day 5
Tromsø – Departure
A slow last morning. The Arctic Cathedral, a coffee on the harbour, and the cable car up Storsteinen for a view over the island before your flight.
Aurora nights cannot be booked, only planned for — so we build in more than one chance and keep the schedule loose enough to chase clear sky.
