Trip Experience Guide

An island stay built for mornings outdoors and long afternoons by the water. The mangroves and the mountain come first; the beach takes the rest.

Day 1

Pantai Cenang: Arrival & Andaman Sunset

Fly up from Kuala Lumpur, a little over an hour, and settle on the west coast. By early evening the sand at Pantai Cenang has cooled, and the sun goes down behind the small islands scattered across the Andaman Sea.

Day 2

Kilim Geoforest: Mangroves & Eagles

Set out by boat into the Kilim Karst Geoforest Park, where mangrove roots grip grey limestone walls and brahminy kites wheel overhead. Stop at a bat cave and a floating fish farm, then drift back through the channels as the tide turns.

Day 3

Machinchang: The Cable Car & Return

Ride the SkyCab at opening, when the air on Gunung Machinchang is cool and often clear, and walk out on the curved Sky Bridge some 660 metres above the sea. Then come down for the short drive to the airport and your flight.

Langkawi can be as active or as idle as you like, and we will weight the days either way. For a swim in fresh water, the Seven Wells falls on the Machinchang slopes are a few minutes from the cable car.
